Lynn Conell-Price applies economic analysis and survey methods to consumer fraud and product liability matters. Dr. Conell-Price formerly served as an economist at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and previously held research positions at the Wharton Risk Management and Decision Processes Center at the University of Pennsylvania, at Carnegie Mellon University as a National Science Foundation (NSF) postdoctoral research fellow, and at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

In her prior roles, Dr. Conell-Price developed nationally representative surveys and designed experiments to examine consumer perceptions, experiences, and interpretation of disclosures in a variety of settings, including mortgage servicing, small business credit access, and natural disaster risk. While at the CFPB, she served as a technical lead on fair lending examinations and conducted statistical analyses of lender data, working with attorneys to integrate statistical evidence with legal strategy.

Dr. Conell-Price has published articles in specialist academic journals, including the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, the Journal of Risk and Insurance, and the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics. Her working paper “How Digital Design Drives User Behavior” was featured in Harvard Business Review. In her research, Dr. Conell-Price has used field experiments and econometric analysis to analyze how information, incentives, and choice architecture can influence consumer decision-making, primarily in relation to financial products, including insurance policies and retirement saving plans.
